How to start a career in Health Care:
Nurses:
- To work as a nurse, you need a degree in nursing and you must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Health Care Assistants:
There are no set entry requirements for becoming a Health Care Assistant as such;
At Bluestar Medics Solutions we work in partnership with a highly recommended one day training course provider where the right candidates can complete fully certified training and due to our strong relationships with our clients we have a number of settings who welcome new starters allowing you to gain valuable on the job training.
You will be required to pass the Enhanced DBS Screening check as this is a legal requirement for anyone working with vulnerable adults or children.
All we ask is that you have an understanding of what the position entails and (as this training is YOUR training and all certificates are given TO YOU to keep) A contribution towards your training fee.
Support Workers:
To work as a Support worker you will need experience either voluntary or paid like:
- working or volunteering at a youth club
- personal experience (caring for a family member)
- working as a social work assistant
- paid or voluntary work in a care home or for a relevant charity
You will also need to be Patient, Tactful, Understanding and most of all have a lot of mental strength (to cope with challenging clients and or situations)
